Visiting Students

VISITING STUDENTS

A student who is enrolled in one or more courses, but whose home institution is another campus is considered a visiting student. Visiting students must submit the following to be considered for admission to the institution:

SUMMER ONLY/VISITING

  1. APPLICATION. Each applicant is required to complete an online application for admission for the desired semester. The application can be found at the institutio's website at www.susla.edu/futurestudents/.
  2. APPLICATION FEE. A non-refundable fee of $20.00 is required of ALL students to process the application for admissionThe application fee can be paid online when submitting your application, or it can be mailed in the form of a money order or cashier's check.
  3. IMMUNIZATION RECORD is required for ALL students born after 1956 for proof of immunization or immunity to measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus/diphtheria, and meningitis. This policy applies to all students entering the institution for the first time and all students returning after an absence of one semester or more.
  4. Submit a letter of good standing that must include the Total Credit Hours previously earned. An official college transcript will be accepted in lieu of the letter of good standing.

Notes:

  • The student assumes full responsibility for the selection of courses and is advised to seek guidance from the home institution.
  • Visiting students who wish to return during subsequent semesters must complete a re-admit application for admission and follow the admission guidelines.
  • Visiting students are not eligible to receive federal financial aid.

CROSS-ENROLLMENT

    Louisiana State University @ Shreveport and Northwest Louisiana Technical College students may register for one course without payment of additional fees. The following documents are required for admission to the institution:

  1. APPLICATION. Each applicant is required to complete an online application for admission for the desired semester. The application can be found at the institution's website at www.susla.edu/futurestudents/.
  2. APPLICATION FEE. A non-refundable fee of $20.00 is required of ALL students to process the application for admission.The application fee can be paid online when submitting your application, or it can be mailed in the form of a money order or cashier's check.
  3. IMMUNIZATION RECORD is required for ALL students born after 1956 for proof of immunization or immunity to measles, mumps, rubella, tetanus/diphtheria, and meningitis.   4. APPROVED REGISTRATION FORM.Cross-enrollment students are required to submit an approved cross-registration form obtained from their institution's Registrar's Office.

EARLY START (DUAL ENROLLMENT)

Early Start (Dual Enrollment) provides high school students an early start toward earning a college degree while concurrently enrolled in high school. Students who have been certified eligible to participate in the Early Start Program shall submit the following documents to be considered for admission to the institution.

  1. PROGRAM ELIGIBILITY. Obtain approval for participation in the Early Start Program from SUSLA's Department of Early Start (Dual Enrollment).
  2. APPLICATION. Each applicant is required to complete an online application for admission for the desired semester. The application can be found at the institution's website at www.susla.edu/futurestudents/.
  3. HIGH SCHOOL TRANSCRIPT. Submit 6th or 7th semester high school transcript.
    1. Transcripts can be faxed to 318-670-6483
    2. SUSLA can request transcripts from the Board of Regents Student Transcript System, if your school has submitted the data.
    3. TEST SCORES.
      1. American College Test (ACT) scores, or
      2. Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) scores, or
      3. ACT PLAN scores

CNA STUDENTS. Applicants to the Certified Nursing Assistant Program are required to submit the online application, and a $20 application fee.
